Join us at 4 pm on May 30th at Wild Ride Brewing in Prineville for a free walk to support cancer patients, survivors, and their families. This is not just a walk. It’s a community event that brings everyone together in the fight against cancer. The event is hosted by Crook County On The Move in partnership with OHSU Knight Cancer Institute.
The Reason Why – This walk is an opportunity to honor loved ones who we’ve lost to cancer, support those in our community who are currently fighting the battle, and raise funds for cancer support in Crook County. It’s also a chance to walk with (or for) a friend affected by cancer.
The walk isn’t just about the destination; it’s about the journey. Enjoy a 1-mile walk engaging in lively conversations with friends, family, and fellow community members while you learn how to fight against the impacts of cancer.
Join the Fight – This event is not just about walking, it’s about education, support, and taking action. The Project Happy Face mobile clinic will be onsite, offering full skin cancer screenings for free. OHSU Knight Cancer Institute’s mobile outreach van will host Tent Talks with valuable information on cancer prevention, treatment and living your best life after treatment. You’ll also have the opportunity to explore local resources for cancer patients and their families.
Enjoy a Zumba warmup before the short social walk to honor people you know who are, or have, battled cancer. Enjoy the chalk art along the route, visit with friends and share a few laughs.
The fun doesn’t end when the walk is over. Dance to the energetic tunes while toasting to good friends with a special craft brew from Wild Ride Brewing. For every pint purchased, Wild Ride will donate $1 to the cause. It’s a fantastic way to relax, reflect on the day, shop at our booths, bid on silent auction items and contribute to the cause.
