Crook County Green Bag Project

1 in 7 Americans struggle with hunger. About a third are children. YOU can help change that.

Crook County Green Bags, a newly formed local initiative, makes it simple and fun to donate food to local food banks on a regular basis. This neighborhood food project has already shared over 3.5 million pounds of food…one green bag at a time. You want to help? Crook County Green Bags makes it easy! You get a green bag from your neighborhood coordinator. You fill it with as much nonperishable food as you want. Every two months a volunteer will pick up your bag and leave you a new one for the next time. That’s all there is to it!

Don’t have a neighborhood coordinator? Consider taking on that role – You’ll be helping real people in our community! Be the person who picks up the green bags and invites new donors to join. It never takes more than a few hours a month and you can help provide over 2,500 meals with just 12 hours of easy volunteering a year. That’s more than 200 meals an hour!
