Our next sessions of Mobility For Life will begin on February 4th and run through March 27th. We meet at 10 am at the Crook County Library’s Broughton Room. This chair based exercise program is designed to keep you moving and enjoying daily activities as we age. It can also help you get back on track when recovering from injuries. Gentle stretching on Wednesdays and strength and balance exercises on Fridays introduces you to this functional and delightful form of exercise. A social time afterwards allows us to catch up and connect each week. It’s free, but we do ask that you sign our registration form at the door when you come. We hope to see you there!

Learn more by visiting our Mobility For Life page.

To exercise from home, choose from several recordings of previous sessions we’ve added to Rebecca’s website at: https://www.wild-lifetraining.com/mobility-for-life

We have group walks on various days at different times from April thru June. Review our hosted groups on our webpage and register using the link provided on that page.

Whether you join one of our groups, walk with an existing group or walk on your own, we encourage you to sign up. By participating, you’ll help support our Minutes Can Matter challenge—every minute you walk adds to the pledged funds benefiting cancer patients in Crook County. Join us to make a difference together!

On Saturday, May 9th from 10 am to 2 pm at Prineville Presbyterian Church. CCOTM’s Community Garden Party truly fosters a sense of community as we learn about gardening and caring for our health. It’s FREE!

There is a variety of fun activities along with free veggie starts, gardening tips, and Master Gardeners’ learning station. Children enjoy activities like Plant a “Salad Bowl”, Storytime in the Garden, and Outdoor Games. There is something for everyone in your family! Lots of information is shared to help you grow your own fresh produce. Don’t have space for your own garden? Come by and learn how to utilize our local community gardens and discover the joy of growing your own food!

On Saturday, May 30th from 4:00 to 7 pm at Wild Ride Brewing we host a cancer awareness walk and gathering. Sponsored by OHSU Knight Cancer Institute, we will have activity booths, free skin cancer screenings, silent auction, and an easy one mile social walk to get our steps in for the day. Wild Ride-Prineville will donate $1 from every beverage served while you enjoy the entertainment, tent talks, and visits with everyone from our community.

Why do we host this? We bring the community together to support those who are battling cancer or who have battled it in the past. We connect current cancer patients with survivors to share experiences and understanding. Together we discover local/regional cancer resources for patients/survivors and their families; learn about preventative measures to help reduce risk; and discuss methods to help you get back on your feet and live your best life!
