When we collaborate and connect, great things happen! On April 20th from 12-1pm, Neighbor Impact will be bringing their Fresh 2 You food truck to the Juniper Canyon Baptist Church at 9180 SE Juniper Canyon Road in Prineville.
NeighborImpact’s Fresh 2 You mobile pantry brings food directly to residents in underserved areas to increase healthy food access in that community; meeting folks where they are. Refrigerated and fully-laden with fresh produce and nutritious, meal-building food, the mobile pantry serves over 3,000 Central Oregonians a month through a shopping-style distribution. The Fresh to You truck partners with school districts, health centers and organizations that provide services to marginalized individuals.
Through their food recovery program, they rescue safe, edible produce, dairy, bread and meat from 19 grocery stores in Deschutes County and redistribute it to partner agencies who operate free food markets and pantries in Central Oregon. Their efforts divert over 50 tons of healthy, edible food from landfills every month and increases the quantity, quality and nutritional value of food available.
